With the remarkable Hope Zone art exhibitions as its centerpiece, UniFest 2003 produced a complete schedule of 21 events devoted to finding and representing ways to a better world, involving all age groups. UniFest has received overwhelming response from viewers, as the Hope Zone art on the walls touches many people.

As Unisun World President Ulku Unsoy relates, "The children who submitted these pieces have obviously been touched by the conflicts of the world, and it is notable in their works." Yet the Hope Zone exhibitions show the optimistic, positive and confident visions of young minds and talented people––not master artists, but rather those who can inspire the audiences. The exhibitions reflect myriad optimistic ideas and visions of the young artists, moving the viewer.

Based in New York, Unisun World
aims to spread the idea of Acculturation,
an alternative term to Globalization, to a broader
constituency. Ulku Unsoy, artist and innovator, is
the founder of Unisun World. Dedicated to the idea
that, as her son Bijan, said at age 11, in 2003:
"Knowledge is a Reward, not a Gift".
Unisun World has organized activities that
interrelate art, science and culture for its mission
since 1987. Unsoy expresses her vision succinctly,
"We artists see, think, and create to motivate."

creativity, exchange of knowledge and the
process of accepting differences among people.

Unisun produces educational outreach
programs, worldwide competitions and
significant events since 1987 and became
a New York based not-for-profit corporation
(Public Charity) and non-governmental
organization (NGO) in 2001.

Unisun operates with charitable
donations under section 501(c)3 Federal
tax-exempt status. Unisun also is granted with
the consent of New York State since 2001 and
pursuant to the provisions of the Education
and Not-For-profit Corporation Laws.

UWAC − 12 Awards Competition
A Call to Youth for Hope Zone
“Ideas and dreams that can make a difference”
|
Unisun World organized the juried art
competition Hope Zone with the theme of
“Ideas and dreams that can make a difference”
to encourage creative potential of young people,
and exhibited three-hundred works at Asia
Minor, 236 Fifth Avenue and the United
Nation Plaza in New York City.
